Reiki is "spiritually guided life force energy.”  This Japanese healing technique, which uses a gentle “laying on of hands” to re-balance energy within the body, promotes stress reduction, relaxation, and inner healing.

Bonnie Berk of Partners in Wellness  says about healing the body and mind, “We know that we are more than just these physical bodies… We are energetic beings.  We can control our beliefs and our attitudes, and in doing that and focusing on that, we can actually strengthen our immune system, the natural healing mechanism within our bodies.”

Reiki is an energy/spiritual healing modality that enhances well-being by helping to bring balance into the body, mind, and spirit.  Using light touch, anyone can learn Reiki to reduce symptoms, like fatigue, pain, nausea and insomnia as well as improve quality of life.  Reiki uses the life force within us and around us to provide an environment for healing.

Bette Martin has battled breast cancer, and has also battled stage four liver, bone and brain cancer.  She has undergone radiation and chemotherapy to treat her cancer, but has also turned to alternative methods of healing such as healing touch therapy and the ancient Japanese practice of Reiki.

Carlisle, PA – On November 5th at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center, Holistic Health Practitioners, Bonnie Berk, Camille Baughman and Gigi Jantos will be offering a morning workshop on how complementary therapies can help heal mind, body and spirit for people dealing with cancer.

The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root Yuj, which means to join or to yoke together, body, mind and spirit. When practicing Yoga, you exercise from the inside out. Yoga postures, or asanas, stimulate and balance all the systems of the body including musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, endocrine, and reproductive.
