CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (July 18, 2012) – The second Franklin County Metric Century cycling event on June 23, raised more than $5,000 to benefit breast care services offered by Rhonda Brake Shreiner Women’s Center, an affiliate of Summit Health, and the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance.

(Boston, MA) -- With balmy temperatures hitting the region within the past couple of weeks, many Central Pennsylvanians have been spending time outside enjoying the sunny skies. But spending too much time in the sun can be dangerous, potentially leading to skin cancer and complications for some cancer patients themselves.

A National Institute of Health funded study published last week reported that research showed a low-carb diet, that emphasized fish, chicken, beef and some fruits and vegetables while avoiding pasta, bread, and potatoes, resulted in about 300 fewer calories than low-fat and Mediterranean type diets.  Is it the final word on how to lose or maintain weight?

Hershey, PA (June 18, 2012)- The Hope Lodge of Central Pennsylvania will hold a grand reopening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 20, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hope Lodge, 125 Lucy Avenue in Hummelstown, PA, to celebrate the Lodge’s renovation and interior makeover project.

Lawrence Tyler and Carol Brown have been friends since high school but recently joined forces to create a photography business, Tyler Brown Photography, in York, PA. They do it all- weddings, parties, portraits. But, recently, they’ve created a special project about something that has touched both of their lives deeply: cancer.
