Jen and Jeff Baker have been receiving treatment at Hershey Medical Center for their 17 year-old daughter Jessi since she was four months old.  She was born with Down syndrome, hydrocephalus and a heart disease.  They received some painful news when they took her in for a back problem that just wouldn’t heal.  The doctor sent them to the ER where they were told that Jessi had leukemia.

August 28, 2011 was my 75th birthday.  I celebrated this event with the person who saved my life – Lois, my wife of 50 years (50th wedding anniversary - 22 July 2011).

When a child is newly diagnosed with cancer, there a lot of questions and unknowns. Child Life Specialists like Julie O'Neill at the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, are there to support children with cancer and their families along the journey and can help to answer those questions.
