(Orlando, FL) -- About a year ago, Lancaster County resident and cervical cancer survivor Vicky Darden decided to sell all of her possessions so she could embark on a monumental trip.

Now, Darden is biking around the country, and may soon be riding overseas, to help raise cancer awareness and visit cancer survivors. As part of our multimedia Facing Cancer Together initiative, witf's Megan Lello spoke with Darden to see how her travels are going:

Keep up with Darden's travels on her website.

Vicky says that she oftentimes receives a warm welcome fro cancer centers that she visits.  But, there are times when she doesn't.  She had a warm welcome from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando where she was given a tour and was able to share her story with cancer patients there.  Her next stop?  St. Jude's in Memphis, followed by drumSTRONG in May,  a 30-hour drum circle event in North Carolina.

She has no set itinerary, but says that there are plenty of adventures and events ahead that she's excited about.  She says, "When you're out on a bike, anything can happen!  You just have to live life in the moment and go with the flow!"
